Soldiers

Thanks to Mimi and Aunt T the boys received some cool Army play stuff in the mail a couple of weeks ago.  They were so excited to use the gear--helmets, compasses, maps, binoculars, glasses, etc.  Here are a couple of pictures of them hard at work.

A Golden Weekend

I am starting to feel like we are on repeat (first back to Moab and then back to Golden just like last year). We headed up to Golden, CO (right outside of Denver) last weekend for Day Out with Thomas.  The boys, especially Cormac, were really excited to do this again.  We took the Airstream and stayed the whole weekend.
He was so excited--he even brought his Thomas hat that he got last year.

On the train waiting for the ride to start.  This year Gus wanted to sit in a "caboose" that wasn't covered.
The big guy himself.

After Thomas we walked around downtown Golden.  They have a nice little main street.  Then we went back to a pizza place we ate at last year that was really good.
After lunch we returned to the Coors brewery.
Enjoying his lemonade after the brewery tour.

Naturally Cormac had a root beer after the tour.
On the way home on Sunday we stopped at the Colorado Pumpkin Patch in Larkspur.  There were all kinds of things for the kids to do and they had a blast.
Cadel thought the farm animals were hysterical. He wouldn't pet them or even get near them but he would stand there and say hello and laugh. It was so funny.
"Hi chicken!"
And, of course, they each picked out a pumpkin when we were all finished.

Maggie's latest stats

Maggie just had her two-month check-up.  She did beautifully, smiling for the nurse and doctor the whole time.  She now weighs 12 pounds, 4 ounces (76 %) and is 24 inches long (92%).  She also had her first vaccinations and only cried for a minute.  As soon as it was over she was all smiles again.  She checked out perfectly--she's doing all the things a two-month-old is supposed to.  She is so happy and smiles all the time.  A few days ago she laughed her first real laugh.  It was a real belly laugh and was for Cormac, who was being silly for her.

"Cheese!"

The things they say

Cormac:  "I'm probably faster than the fastest bike rider in the world."

Cormac (he was angry with Gus over something--probably toy related): "I'm only getting Gus clothes for his birthday."

Gus:  "I don't like kindergarten as much as preschool."
Me: "Why?"
Gus: "Because I have to be quiet."

Cormac: "I wish I was Superman (meaning he wishes he had on his Superman shirt with the cape) because I could unload all of the groceries by myself."

Here is a picture of "Cowboy Cormac" as he calls himself when he is wearing his boots.

Happy girl

It's hard to believe but Maggie is two months old today.  She is such a happy girl.
