Atleigh's visit

Our friend Becca came to visit this past Saturday and brought her new baby girl, Atleigh. Atleigh was born something like 3 1/2 months early (born in October 2008, but not due until the end of January 2009). She was released from the hospital right around her actual due date. She weighs almost 6 pounds now. She is still on oxygen, but otherwise is doing wonderfully. It was great to see Becca and Atleigh. Gus was very interested in Atleigh. He like to touch her head and give her kisses.

This was the first time that Gus has ever sat still for anything. He was great for the minute or so that he "held" Atleigh. She didn't seem to enjoy it as much.

Nice shoes

I guess this is the beginning of Gus deciding what he wants to wear. He was wearing his sneakers one day, but found one of his brown shoes. He brought it to me to put it on his foot. I just figured he would bring the other one as well, but when I asked him about it he shook his head. He wanted to wear one brown shoe and one blue shoe. So he spent the rest of the day wearing two different shoes.

I do my own stunts

Gus' Mimi and Opa have contributed to the fun t-shirts with this one. It is very appropriate since I recently caught Gus trying to climb the bookcases.

With all the car and truck driving going on, Gus has to read up on his subject.
More moving furniture. This time he wanted his chair next to Max.
Max the wonder dog.

In the doghouse (kind of)

We recently purchased a dog travel carrier for Max's return journey to the states this summer. After his terrible and very long trip to Italy in 2004 we disposed of his old cage due to bad memories. Since he is going with us to the states the summer (and staying with Gam-Gam and Jimbo until we are back stateside next year), he needed a new one. We set it up so he can start getting used to it. Of course, he hasn't gone anywhere near it yet, but Gus is having a great time using it as a playhouse. At least Max will have plenty of Gus-scent to accompany him on his trip.
Gus has continued with the crazy car driving.

This little bistro table is currently Gus' favorite place to sit. We sit there and have long discussions on the weather, politics, religion, whatever strikes us.

Nuernberg Zoo

This weekend we took Gus to the Nuernberg Zoo. I am not a big fan of zoos to begin with, but this was kind of a disappointment as far as zoos go (at least for Pat and I). Gus, however, had a terrific time looking at all of the animals. He loved all the different monkeys, the giraffes, goats and horses. His favorite was the leopard.

Checking out some monkeys.
Looking at more monkeys.

Oh dear.

Gus loves to drive around anything that has wheels, but his cars are his favorite. He drives these around on the floor, walls, table, or whatever surface is available.

I know a lawyer

Another funny t-shirt--this time courtesy of Pat.
And a sampling of the many faces of Gus, most of them mischievous.

Fuerth vs. Rot-Weiss Oberhausen

Sunday we went to watch the Kleeblatt of Fuerth take on the Rot-Weiss from Oberhausen. We are big fans of the Fuerth soccer team and this was Gus' third game this season. The weather left a little to be desired, but it was a great match. Fuerth won 3-1 and is currently in second place in their league.

They were selling kinderschals (children's scarfs) yesterday so we bought Gus his first soccer scarf. Here is Gus with his game-face.

We bought a ticket for him this time so he even had his own seat.

Chicks Dig Me

Another awesome t-shirt from Aunt Kelsey.
Too cool for school.

Lock up your daughters

A few pictures of Gus from this past weekend.

The t-shirt is courtesy of his Aunt Kelsey. Here he is posing for the camera.
His newest idea is to rearrange the living room furniture. He didn't like the coffee table where it was so he moved it.
This is the "where's your belly button?" game.
