Maggie's artwork

About a week or so ago Maggie decided to show us her artistic abilities. And she did so on the wall. With ink pen. I had just gotten Maggie and Cadel home from preschool. Somehow the pen I keep in my bag escaped and found it's way into Maggie's hand at the top of the stairs.


She completed this work of art in under 5 minutes and it was a beauty.  It was also a pain to remove.  Apparently Magic Erasers are unable to work their magic on good solid German plaster.  So after trying several cleaning methods I finally settled on rubbing alcohol with Q-tips.  Yes, Q-tips.  It took awhile and in some spots is still faintly visible, but I am certain she had a grand time creating this masterpiece.

Snow Day

We had quite a bit of snow dumped on us last night so the kids and I went out this morning.  They played while I shoveled the driveway.  They had many different  building projects going on.  Gus built a snow burrow.  Gus and Cormac worked together to pack the snow so they could sled down the front yard.  It was a good time that required hot chocolate afterwards.

Silvester Lauf

I ran in the Silvester Lauf (New Year's Eve Run) in Nuernberg yesterday.  It was my first 10k and I was really proud of myself (51:33!).  The weather was very cold and rainy so the kids couldn't really run around but they were pretty good sports.
