Christmas

We had a good Christmas this year.  Grandma was here to help celebrate.  The kids were very happy to see that Santa paid them a visit.
Playing with cool stuff from Santa.

Gus and Cormac have been into learning how to cook so I made all the kids aprons for Christmas.
This is how Cadel chose to mark the day.  He had on khakis but traded those in for his bathing suit.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Bryans!

Snow!

Last week, as luck would have it, it snowed on the first day of Winter Break.  The kids could not have been more excited and went out early to to play.  It wasn't much, maybe an inch or so, but they had a blast.
Little Miss Maggie just got to watch from inside but when she gets a little bigger she will be out in the middle of all of the action.

Cormac's Christmas Program

Cormac's preschool had their Christmas program this week.  All of the classes came into the church and sang several songs.  Afterward there were cookies!
Cormac did a fantastic job singing all of the songs.

Birthday Boys

Cormac and Gus had their birthdays last week.  We did a LOT of celebrating.
First up was Cormac's 5th birthday. He got some of those little white powdered donuts as a surprise that morning for breakfast.  Naturally he fell off his bike the day before and had a big strawberry on his face.

Grandma drove up on Thursday and Thursday night we had a family celebration where he opened presents and had cupcakes.

Friday was Gus' 7th birthday.  He had early dismissal from school that day so we had a family celebration that afternoon with presents and cupcakes.

Saturday we had a dinosaur birthday party for Cormac with all kinds of dino games and activities for Cormac and his school friends.
Sunday we had a Star Wars party for Gus and his friends.

Thanksgiving weekend

We traveled to Oklahoma to spend Thanksgiving at Grandma's and visit Mimi  and Opa.

We had the second annual Bryan family turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning.  It was pretty cold so the kids didn't last long.

Ready to go

Cadel has been wearing his backpack a lot lately.  He loads it up with all kinds of things such as books, toys, stuffed animals, etc.  Sometimes he says he is going to school, other times he is going to the store or on a trip.  He just likes to be prepared.

Running Fox

Last week at preschool Cormac's class was learning about the letter I.  So they did lots of Indian-related activities (can't be pc and call them Native Americans when it has to go with the letter I). When we picked him up on Friday he was no longer Cormac.  He was a little Indian boy named Running Fox.

Union Station

We loaded up and drove in to KC, MO, this weekend to visit Union Station.  They completely renovated it in the late 1990s and it so pretty on the inside.
We took the kids to Science City. They currently have an exhibit on Extreme Bugs so this giant wasp was outside.
Notice Cadel in this picture.  The giant wasp made a noise and started to move it's head.  He was terrified, poor guy.  This picture is right before he ran away.  Needless to say, we did not go to the Extreme Bugs exhibit.
The kids had a lot of fun in Science City.
The Dinosaur Dig area was a favorite for Cormac, Cadel and Maggie.

View of Union Station and downtown KC from the WWI Memorial.
Checking out the view.

Ready for Thanksgiving

Grandma sent a couple of Thanksgiving surprises.  As soon as Halloween was over they couldn't wait to open them.  They are now ready to go for Thanksgiving.

A new favorite spot

Maggie has always loved pulling stuff out of the cabinets but recently she discovered she can fit in the cabinets.
