Beebo's Birthday

Beebo (Pat's dad) had his birthday this week so we had Beebo and Gam-Gam over for dinner on Sunday night to celebrate.  Gus is the birthday police so he decided where the decorations would hang, where everyone would sit and when it was time to put on birthday hats.  He loves birthdays and was very excited to celebrate Beebo's with cake and ice cream (who cares about the birthday dinner?!?).

Beebo and Gus are great pals.
Beebo had a lot of assistance opening his presents.
Gus and Callie (one of Beebo and Gam-Gam's dogs).

We hope you had a great birthday Beebo!

Cormac's First Haircut

Last week we took the boys in for much needed haircuts.  It was Cormac's first haircut.  Gus wanted to go to Snip-Its (the kid haircut place) because he only wants girls to cut his hair.  Cormac was none to excited about getting up in the chair but he sat very still.  He tried for the longest time not to cry, but finally let loose and cried the entire rest of the haircut (luckily, it was only a few minutes).  He looks like such a little boy now with all of his baby fuzz gone.

Gus was an old pro when it was his turn.   Every time they get a haircut they look a little bit older and bigger--it sure does go by fast.

Beating the summer heat

Cormac is fearless.  He loves "jumping" off of the diving board.

Taking a dip in the lake at Granddad's.  Apparently it is really warm (like bath water, yuck).  I prefer the nice and cool pool.

Water Babies

I have taken a few breaks from unpacking to take Gus and Cormac out to Granddad's (Pat's grandfather) pool.  They both love it.  Cormac has become a real fish there.  Unlike at our pool in SC, he just floats and kicks and swims all over the place in Granddad's pool.

Carter Mountain

I took the boys to Carter Mountain to pick some peaches (we went there last fall while we were visiting Pat's family and picked apples).  Unfortunately the weather kept them from allowing anyone to pick peaches, but we will go back next week when the outlook is better for peach pickin'.  Since we were up there I decided to go ahead and get some peaches and tomatoes and we walked around for a bit taking in the nice view.

Catching up

I seem to have taken a hiatus from posting pictures and updates.  The past few weeks have been full of moving.  We were packed out and loaded in Columbia at the end of June.  My mom came to help out with Gus and Cormac and was a tremendous help in keeping them busy and out of the way.  The boys and I arrived in Charlottesville, Virginia (our new home), on June 29th.  We have been in our new house since the end of June with our household goods arriving on July 1.  We will be here for a year while Pat attends the JAG school to earn his LL.M. (legal master's degree).  On the bright side, Pat's family lives here in central Virginia about 30 minutes from where we are, so we will be near some family for the year.  Pat's mom was really helpful in coming by to get the boys so we could get some stuff unpacked.  All of the help with this move has been a real bonus!

Due to the move I haven't really taken any pictures lately.  Pat participated in the Tri the Midlands triathlon again this summer at Lake Carolina before we left for VA.  We all went along to cheer him on, including my mom.  Gus wanted to run in a race with his dad so Gus joined Pat for the last 200 meters and crossed the finish line with him.

Other than that we have just been trying to get settled into our new place. Pat is still finishing up work in SC and will join us permanently in the next few weeks.
