Just another day hanging out at dad's office

Pat's office had a potluck over the weekend to mark the end of another training rotation.  One of the perks of being a military kid is checking out cool Army things.  Pat let the kids climb all over his Humvee after the potluck was over.  They thought that was awesome!
Maggie sitting in the back on some ammo boxes,
Babydoll in hand (yes, she named the doll Babydoll Bryan).
Each kid had a chance to turn on the Humvee.  Gus went first and the looks on their faces were priceless with the noise and rumble.
Roger, Roger.

Star Wars checkers

Gus and Cormac like to play checkers with each other sometimes.  For this game they cleverly decided to use their Star Wars Lego minifigures in place of the checkers.

Gus threw Harry Potter in on his side as well.  He is there between C-3P0, BB-8, and the silver astromech droid.

Waiting for the bus

Finally a day where everything wasn't soaking wet or covered in snow and it wasn't raining (we even briefly saw the sun!).  So Maggie and Cadel spent some time running around at the bus stop while we waiting for the big boys to get home from school.  They had "races".

Cadel is wearing his pj's because they had just had pajama day at preschool.  He decided he was going to continue the look the whole day.  Maggie didn't want to participate--she didn't think pj's were for school.

Lupburger Fasching

Fasching is the German carnival season leading up to Lent.  Our little town, Lupburg, had their Fasching parade the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.  We walked over to some friends' house to watch since they live on the parade route.  The kids all had a great time getting candy (it is a little like Halloween with costumes and candy).  Each local group or association has a theme as they walk the parade route so this year we saw Star Wars, Harry Potter and monkeys among others.
Cadel was all about getting the candy tossed out.

Here comes Star Wars!
Of course it wouldn't be a celebration without cupcakes.

Look who has glasses now

Around New Year's we noticed Maggie's right eye turning in.  She finally had her appointment with the Optometrist this week.  She has strabismus (commonly known as crossed-eyes) but it is treatable and now she has these cool glasses to work on just that.  She was completely uninterested in picking out glasses (there was a small bucket of toys to play with at the optical shop) so I picked these.  The pictures do no show very well but the frames are purple on the outside and hot pink on the inside (her favorite colors, such a girl!).  The real test is going to be getting her to keep them on...
