Mr. Cool

Cormac got some new sunglasses over spring break.  He makes sure to wear them every time he is outside.

Cormac's Spring Program

Cormac's preschool Spring Program was yesterday morning.  He did a great job and I think his favorite song this time was "I'm in the Lord's Army."  It was really cute and he did a repeat performance of that one for Pat last night.
Deja vu--I think he was wearing almost the exact same thing for the Christmas Program.

There were cookies afterward for this one as well.  I think Cadel just went along with all of this because he knew there were cookies at the end.

Say "cookie!"

Overheard

Gus to Cormac:  "You can't trick me, I'm old."

Gus:  "I'm too tired to be angry."

Cormac:  "Mom, when you need help bossing Dad jumps in to help."

Me:  "Cadel how did you get that scratch on your face?"
Cadel:  "A cheetah bit me."

Gus:  "Everyone is a winner.  There is a poster at my school that says that.  I read the real small words at the bottom and it said 'this is true'."    So it must be.

Cormac: "I'm not going to have kids when I'm a grown-up so I can put my Legos wherever I want."

Strike a pose

All the kids were together on the stairs so I thought I might be able to get a picture of them all together.
This was the first attempt.

Then they figured out I was trying to get a picture so they posed.

And again.

Just a little off the top

Cormac decided to give himself a little trim, but only right in the middle.  He also took a little chunk out on the side but you can't see in the picture.  He was very pleased with his work and doesn't understand why I think he should continue going to the barber for his haircuts.

On the hunt for leprechauns

For school Gus had to create a leprechaun trap.  There was a leprechaun loose in his classroom.  So he set up a good old fashioned box trap.  I liked the message he wrote on the side.
"Leprechaun in Mrs. Baragary's class only. Coins for free."

Sick week

We had the flu last week.  It was a long week and some of us (mainly me) are still recovering.  Miraculously Gus didn't get it but everyone else was down.  So this is how we spent most of the week.

Swamped!

Gus' school had a first grade music program called Swamped! last night. The kids had a list of swamp creatures they could choose from to be in the program.  Naturally Gus picked a snake (parents had to come up with a costume and somehow a turtle or a bug was easier to visualize...).  The first graders had been working on it for two months during music class.  Gus was excited for us to see it and was proud that he was the only one from his class with two lines (the kids volunteered for lines so I guess Gus was the only one in his class that volunteered twice).
Gus is on the top row, slightly to the right, with the green hood.

He did a fantastic job with his lines.

Maggie really liked the music but all Bryan kids were proud of their big brother.

Maggie strikes again

She's very sneaky and very quiet...

She stole a lollipop and went to eat it at Pat's desk.

Boots

More boots

And finally, she decided to moisturize.  Always important, although I find conditioner works better for hair than cream.
